Vaginal Tightening

Vaginal Tightening

vaginal tightening

As women go through childbearing, hormonal changes and ageing, they can experience changes in their genitalia. Changes that can impact a woman's quality of life include vaginal laxity, stress urinary incontinence, loss of vaginal lubrication, a decrease in erotic sensation and loss of tone of the labia majora. As women, their physicians and the media are finally beginning to talk about these issues, the number of treatments available is increasing.

What are the causes of Vaginal Laxity?

Pregnancy and vaginal delivery can lead to trauma and stretching, which can result in loss of vaginal tightness. Vaginal laxity is more likely to occur when bearing more than one child, having a large baby, undergoing a forceps delivery and normal ageing.

HOW IS THIS TREATED?

Vaginal PRP Rejuvenation

The vaginal PRP comprises the injection of Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) into the upper wall of the vagina and clitoris, triggering stem cells’ multiplication and “younger” tissue growth.
Growth Factors released from the activated PRP, promote collagen and elastin production inside the vagina and around the clitoris, causing its expansion due to tissue thickening, leading to easier stimulation, sexual enhancement and improved vaginal hydration.

FAQs

What is involved in the procedure?

The PRP contains a high concentration of platelets and bioactive proteins, which in combination with the use of a laser beam, if necessary, cause the release of Growth Factors essential for promoting collagen and elastin formation.

How long does the procedure take?

The whole procedure from blood collection to processing and reinjection to the treatment area takes approximately an hour.

Is the treatment painful?

Light sedation is used so as not to feel any discomfort during the procedure, giving also the possibility of a combined treatment including ovarian, uterine and vaginal PRP at same day.

How soon are results noticed and how long do they last?

An immediate increase in volume takes place, leading to noticeable results. As PRP is a form of Regenerative Medicine, the formation of new collagen and elastin leads to mucosal skin thickening and tightening for about 14 months.
